Meetings and Other Activities

  • Monthly meetings - Normally  held on the first Thursday of each month, (except August), usually in Norwich. Often a speaker will give a talk, frequently illustrated. January is usually a members short contributions meeting.

We welcome suggestions for speakers, and would urge anyone who has been carrying out a project to perhaps come and tell us about it.

The meeting incorporating the AGM normally includes a quiz or other entertainment, and members are invited to bring snacks or other food contributions for a social gathering after the formal business.

After the meetings we have a coffee and chat. Some members finish the evening in a nearby excellent public house. (Industrial Archaeology and real ale go together)summer social

  • Field meetings and surveys - Normally held on the second Sunday of the month. These are arranged as required.

  • Social meetings - two a year, the Summer Social usually being in a local museum or a  site connected with  industrial archaeology.

  • Visits to local working industries are occasionally organised.
