Meetings and Other Activities
-
Monthly meetings - Normally held on the first Thursday of each month, (except August), usually in Norwich. Often a speaker will give a talk, frequently illustrated. January is usually a members short contributions meeting.
We welcome suggestions for speakers, and would urge anyone who has been carrying out a project to perhaps come and tell us about it.
The meeting incorporating the AGM normally includes a quiz or other entertainment, and members are invited to bring snacks or other food contributions for a social gathering after the formal business.
After the meetings we have a coffee and chat. Some members finish the evening in a nearby excellent public house. (Industrial Archaeology and real ale go together)
- Field meetings and surveys - Normally held on the second Sunday of the month. These are arranged as required.
- Social meetings - two a year, the Summer Social usually being in a local museum or a site connected with industrial archaeology.
- Visits to local working industries are occasionally organised.
.
-
Working days at Gunton Mill, and also staffing on days when the mill is opened to the public
.
- We have a summer afternoon perambulation around a Norfolk market town, usually with a local guide and a refreshment stop. At then end of the walk there is the option of a drink and meal together in a local pub..
